The Kremlin still does not have an exact understanding of the Turkish gas hub

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the creation of a gas hub in Turkey. According to him, the implementation of this project is in the interests of both Moscow and Ankara. However, the details of this initiative have yet to be determined.
Answering a question from Kommersant FM about how the work of the Turkish hub will be organized and who will become the main buyer of gas, Mr. Peskov said that at the moment there is no “harmonious understanding”.
“The idea itself was conceptually supported by the President of Turkey at a recent meeting in Astana. The Presidents instructed to immediately begin negotiations and consultations with the relevant departments of the two countries. This initiative, in fact, is in the interests of both Moscow and Ankara. Therefore, now all the nuances will be worked out, ”the spokesman said.
Dmitry Peskov drew attention to the fact that there are many nuances in creating a hub that need to be discussed, including the availability of transport, as well as sellers and buyers. “In any case, the Turkish Stream is in good order and at full load, as they say, a working gas system,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
The idea of creating a hub, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced at the last meeting with Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The largest gas hub in Europe, as conceived by Mr. Putin, would allow redirecting the lost volume of transit through Nord Stream to the Black Sea region.
