The Italian Visa Application Center in Moscow said that as of today, July 6, it no longer accepts documents from Russian citizens who do not have permanent registration in Moscow or the Moscow Region.
“The Center does not accept documents from residents from Russian regions who have temporary registration in Moscow. Only applicants with Moscow or Moscow region permanent registration (stamp in the passport) can apply for a visa in Moscow, ”the message posted on site center.
On July 4, the Moscow Visa Application Center for Italy reported that the processing time for requests from travelers from the Russian Federation had been increased. The center said in a statement that “due to organizational and technical circumstances, the processing of visa requests may take longer than usual.”
From September 12, 2022 the European Union suspended facilitated visa regime with Russia. The procedure for applying for a Schengen visa has become more expensive, and the EU countries have the right to set their own visa restrictions for Russians. Russians who want to get a German visa must now submit an extract from a bank operating in one of the EU countries. In addition, Russians now have to take out insurance only in European companies.
