Seaborne exports of petroleum products from Russia in October 2023 decreased by about 200,000 barrels per day compared to September and amounted to 2.5 million barrels per day amid a partial ban on fuel exports. This is stated in the monthly review of the International Energy Agency (IEA), published on November 14.
A decrease in refinery production in Russia, as well as the requirement of the Russian authorities to increase shipments to the domestic market, led to a reduction in fuel exports and at the same time to an increase in crude oil supplies, the IEA notes. In October, the daily volume of seaborne oil exports increased by 110,000 barrels. compared to the previous month and reached 5.04 million barrels.
