The collection of the State Historical Museum (SIM) has exceeded 5 million items, said the director of the State Historical Museum Alexei Levykin in an exclusive interview with Kommersant. According to him, the museum is experiencing a shortage of storage facilities.

“This is our pain, we really hope that the depository will be created. Almost 95% of the collection of the Historical Museum is kept in the center of Moscow. In many ways, this complicates its activities, complicates the restoration processes on architectural monuments – and the museums of our complex are located only in architectural monuments. In addition, these spaces are not enough to create normal storage conditions.”
