The head of the UAC spoke about plans to deliver the first MS-21 aircraft in 2024

The delivery of the first six production Russian MS-21 aircraft is scheduled for the end of 2024, said the CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yuri Slyusar on the air of the TV channel “Russia 24”.

“Fly off the entire test program for 2024, receive a certificate for a Russian aircraft, and at the end of 2024 deliver the first 6 production aircraft MS-21-310 to the Rossiya company,” Slyusar said (quote according to “RIA Novosti”)

Earlier today it became known that Irkut Corporation (part of UAC State Corporation “Rostec”) received from the Federal Air Transport Agency approval for the installation of a domestic PD-14 engine and a wing made of domestically produced composite materials on the Russian medium-haul MS-21 aircraft. The department emphasized that this year more than 160 successful flight tests of the MS-21 with the PD-14 power plant were carried out, the engine showed results that are not inferior to foreign counterparts.

October 17 Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin informedthat the government will allocate 15 billion rubles. for equipment for aircraft factories, including those producing the domestic MS-21 passenger aircraft. Then Mishustin noted that the second prototype of the MS-21 aircraft with Russian PD-14 engines made a long flight – more than five hours.

In September, for the MS-21 aircraft project singled out additional 15 billion rubles. This is not the first time that budget funds have been allocated to support the MS-21 project. In January 2019, the government allocated 10.5 billion rubles. for the creation, production and maintenance of these aircraft. The money had to be received within three years: in 2019 – 1.58 billion rubles, in 2020 and 2021. – 4.11 and 4.81 billion rubles. respectively.
