Regarding the mechanism of restrictions on oil, officials then explained that they were considering the possibility of imposing a ban on transportation if the goods were sold more than the price ceiling – it is proposed to set the ceiling slightly above profitability in order to minimize state profits.
Recently, the European Union failed to agree on a price ceiling for Russian gas, but discussions will continue. An alternative could be to limit the cost not only for Russia, but also for other states.
