A one-time voluntary contribution to the budget must take into account the company’s investment plan, the amount of investment may change depending on the size of the payment, declared TASS President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin.
“This topic worries, first of all, big business, but not only it. Entrepreneurs need to plan investments – what resource can be left to develop? Katyrin said.
According to him, the amount of investment in this and next years may change depending on the amount of the contribution and how the scope of activity and profitability of the enterprise will be taken into account, he noted. Katyrin added that on the issue of voluntary contributions, everyone is interested in the consequences of its introduction – in particular, the possible “increased interest in the organization from the tax authorities or other regulators.”
February 8 First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov declaredthat the government is discussing with business a one-time voluntary tax contribution to the budget. He clarified that this is not a tax increase, but the so-called windfall tax – a tax on windfall profits.
According to Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, the budget may receive a total of about 300 billion rubles. from business. The minister clarified that the tax contribution will not affect the oil and gas sector and small businesses.
The Kremlin stressed that the initiative is voluntary. At the same time, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, recalled that the interaction between the country’s leadership and business is a “two-way road.” It is necessary to understand the current realities and needs of the country, he noted.
According to the Kremlin spokesman, the government and business representatives are now working out all the nuances. Peskov drew attention to the fact that this practice is common in other countries.
