The head of the Belarusian Railways announced 7,000 Belarusian railcars stuck in Ukraine

The head of the Belarusian Railways (BZhD), Vladimir Morozov, said that after February 24, seven thousand railway cars were stuck in Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian authorities do not make contact with Belarus on this issue.
“As of February 24, there were more than 7,000 Belarusian cars left in Ukraine, not only the Belarusian Railways, but also enterprises,” Morozov said (quoted by TASS). “So far, neither the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine nor the Ukrainian Railway has officially contacted us on this issue,” he added.
The head of the Belarusian Railways estimated the damage from the loss of wagons at 900 million rubles. ($360 million). According to him, they transported oil products, chemical fertilizers, construction and food cargoes. “Now the cars have an incomprehensible status. We have the following information: they are involved in a criminal case, as if they were arrested by the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine,” he said. At the same time, there are 500 wagons and two locomotives belonging to Ukraine on the territory of Belarus.
On September 2, the National Police of Ukraine reported the arrest of 390 wagons belonging to Russia and Belarus. They were arrested as part of a criminal case on financing actions aimed at forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing power in Ukraine. Within the framework of the new law on the confiscation of Russian property on March 15 started nationalization of Russian wagons.
