General Director of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov believes that the privatization of the company is “not a matter of today.” However, he did not rule out privatization in the future.

About 21 thousand new passenger cars, about 9.5 thousand locomotives were purchased, passenger traffic during this period exceeded 23 billion people. According to Mr. Belozerov, Russian Railways “regularly breaks records from the times of the Soviet Union” – in terms of freight turnover, speed and others. Russian railways today are the busiest in the world, ranking second in terms of freight turnover and third in terms of length.
