The head of Rosatom Likhachev allowed the construction of more than 42 power units by 2045

By 2045, the state corporation Rosatom can build more than the initially planned 42 power units. This was stated by the head of the corporation Alexey Likhachev in an interview TV channel “Russia 24”.
“The construction of 42 power units by 2045 is the minimum that we now understand. There will most likely be more,” said Mr. Likhachev.
In December last year, the head of Rosatom explained that in order to achieve a 25 percent share of electricity generation from nuclear power plants in the country’s energy balance, the corporation needs to build 12 power units before 2035 and 17 power units in the period from 2036 to 2045.
