The president of the American petrochemical company Oxy Energy, Frederick Fortuber, said that the United States will increase oil production in 2023 by 500,000 barrels per day. According to him, about 80-90% of the growth will come from the Permian Basin in North America.
“We expect it to be in the order of 500,000 barrels a day this year,” Frederic Fautruber said on the sidelines of the CERAWeek international energy conference in Houston, Texas (quoted from Reuters).
In February, the US Department of Energy increased its 2023 oil production forecast by 380,000 b/d to 9.87 million b/d. According to forecasts OPEC, in 2023, the production of liquid hydrocarbons in the United States will decrease by 50 thousand b/d, to 20.14 million b/d. At the same time, according to the organization, the largest volumes of oil production growth in 2023 among non-OPEC countries will be provided, in particular, by the United States.
