The head of the Republic of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, said that large players, including the Rixos hotel chain, are ready to enter the tourism market of his region.
“There are a lot of major players in the global tourism market who want to enter this area. Rixos, for example. They are interested in development in Dagestan. Also last year we had the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, they are also interested,” said Mr. Melikov in an interview. “RIA News”.
The head of the republic plans to create four tourist clusters in Dagestan – coastal, mountainous, Derbent and a hunting cluster. He expressed confidence that the demand for staying in the region today is great, so there will be no end to investment in the republic.
Mr. Melikov noted that Dagestan will devote 2023 and 2024 to infrastructure construction, and in 2025 he hopes to invite large developers. He said that the republic is now working with the Kavkaz.RF corporation to create infrastructure for the coastal cluster.
