The President of the Russian Grain Union, Arkady Zlochevsky, believes that despite the restrictions, Russia will be able to reach the indicator for grain exports next season (July 2022 – June 2023) at the level of 60 million tons. Of these, 50 million tons will fall on wheat.

“In principle, we are able to export seasonally over 60 million tons of grain. This possibility still exists,” Mr. Zlochevsky said at a press conference. At the same time, the export potential, according to him, remains at the level of 65 million tons of grain.

President Vladimir Putin saidthat by the end of the year Russia plans to supply another 4-5 million tons of grain. It will be comparable with a December 2017 record. According to him, it is expected that according to the results of the agricultural year, grain exports will amount to about 50 million tons.

On December 17, it became known that the governors of the largest grain-producing regions sent a letter to the president asking him to limit the share of foreign companies exporting grain. Authors of the letter believethat foreign traders are pumping grain through the “shadow links of the chain.”
