The government has decided to extend the parallel import mechanism until 2024, and constant work is underway to adjust it, said Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. According to him, the authorities expect to gradually reduce the list of goods allowed for import.
“We in the government made a collective decision for the next year to maintain this mechanism for now, but taking into account the approaches that I described. That is, there will be a gradual reduction in terms of the list and nomenclature,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
As the minister clarified, “constant work is underway to adjust both manufacturers and nomenclature, according to which either our Russian companies reach the specified volume and quality indicators.” “Either foreign suppliers ask to be excluded from the list when returning,” added Mr. Manturov.
