In the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, a preferential mortgage program will be available. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin.
“We will develop mortgages in new territories – the decision has been made that we will develop preferential mortgages there. It will be in small volumes, but this is also a reserve for the future for the housing construction market,” Mr. Khusnullin told reporters after a meeting of the government commission on regional development (quote from TASS).
As Mr. Khusnullin specified, mass lending in these regions is not planned. We are talking about several thousand loans. “There is already interest from local developers who want to build especially on the coast. Federal players are big – I can’t say yet that someone will go there en masse,” he said.
December 15 Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed extend the preferential mortgage program until July 1, 2022, the rate on it will increase to 8%. He also proposed to provide mortgages at a rate of 2% for housing construction in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. On December 29, the government officially extended preferential mortgage program until July 2024.
