The government subcommittee on customs, tariff and non-tariff regulation supported the idea of zeroing out duties on egg imports for the period from January 1 to June 30, 2024. This is stated in message Ministry of Economy. Currently, the import duty is 15% of the cost of eggs.

The abolition of duties will affect imports from friendly countries in the amount of 1.2 billion eggs.
Eggs are included in the list of socially significant products, the cost of which is regulated by the authorities. If a product from this list rises in price by more than 10% (except for seasonal factors) within 60 days, maximum retail prices are introduced for it for a period of up to 90 days.
This fall, prices for chicken eggs began to rise rapidly. According to data According to Rosstat, at the end of November, eggs became one of the most expensive products: in 46 regions their prices increased by 10–20%.
