The government intends to increase the down payment for preferential and family mortgage programs, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. According to him, this is necessary to regulate the issuance.
“Now we are taking some measures to increase the down payment… The volume of mortgages issuing is very large at the moment. We are looking at how to regulate the volume of mortgage issuance before June 1,” he explained (quoted by TASS).
Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Irek Faizullin saidthat preferential mortgage programs “in some form” will remain after July 2024. At the Central Bank complainedthat the quality of mortgage loans has deteriorated noticeably.
