The head of Sberbank, German Gref, said that the fundamental rate is currently 85–90 rubles/$. In his opinion, at the moment there are trends towards “some stabilization” of the Russian currency exchange rate.
“The fundamental exchange rate of the ruble is in the range of 85-90 rubles, so somewhere around these figures the ruble should be, well, 90 plus or minus. We do not expect that it will go anywhere far from these levels,” Mr. Gref said during a press conference following a meeting of the supervisory board of the financial organization. He referred to the forecasts of Sberbank analysts, who believe that by the end of this year the stabilization of the exchange rate is more realistic than its weakening.
Today, November 7, during bidding on the Moscow Exchange the dollar fluctuates at 94.2 rubles. At the same time, on October 5, the US currency exchange rate broke through the 100 ruble mark. The ruble began to grow against the dollar against the background signing President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on the mandatory sale of foreign currency earnings to a number of exporters.
