Alrimex explained to Kommersant that they participated in the auction in the interests of a third party, but could not disclose it due to agreements. The arbitration manager of Sofiino-70, Irina Laricheva, stated that she had not checked the company’s connections.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, 60% of Alrimex belongs to Sergei Akhromov, the remaining 40% belongs to the company itself. In 2008–2011, Mr. Akhromov was a member of the board of directors of JSC Olympic Sports Complex with a minority stake, as follows from the company’s reporting. Kievskaya Ploshchad told Kommersant that Project 16’s balance sheet previously included areas on the Olimpiysky stylobate, which were purchased from it. The group and its co-owners have nothing to do with the land deal in Sofiino, they explained. Mr. Pozhigailo, who is now a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, refused to comment on “commercial issues” to Kommersant.
“Island of Erin” was initially supposed to be built on 45 hectares of the Miel Group of Companies, which promised to invest $300 million in the project. Director of the Nikoliers land development department Timur Ryvkin calls the deal profitable for the buyer, taking into account the large area of the site and the prospects for the development of the metro in New Moscow.
