The former Russian subsidiary of Volkswagen has changed its name to AGR Automotive Group. This was reported in the press service of the organization.
“The name change was the first step in the transformation and restart of the business after the transfer of assets to a new owner,” the representative office said. It is specified that the rebranding will affect “the company’s corporate identity, visual identification, as well as the company’s dealer network, which currently has more than 400 enterprises.”
The group was assured that they would continue to sell cars and parts. The list of the company’s assets includes an engine plant in Kaluga, a spare parts and accessories warehouse in Chekhov (Moscow region) and a financial services business, the office added.
May 19 Volkswagen reported on the sale of its stake in the Russian “daughter” of Volkswagen Group Rus to the company “Art-Finance” (owns the dealer “Avilon“). The dealer acquired all shares in the group and in all Russian subsidiaries of the German concern, including Volkswagen KS LLC, Scania Leasing LLC, Scania Finance LLC and Scania Insurance LLC.
Volkswagen decided to suspend production at its plants in Russia after the start of a military operation in Ukraine in February 2022. In April of this year, Vedomosti wrote on the approval of the sale of two factories of the concern near Kaluga by the government commission for the control of foreign investment.
