The former division of McKinsey in Russia was renamed into “Yakov and Partners”

Partners of the former Russian division of McKinsey announced that they would change their name to Yakov and Partners, transmits TASS with reference to the company’s statement. The choice fell on such a name as a tribute to the tradition in strategic consulting.

Now the organization includes more than 15 partners who previously collaborated with the Big Three companies – McKinsey, BCG and Bain. It is specified that a full-fledged rebranding, including the launch of an updated website and social networks, will take place in several stages and be completed before the end of the year. In the first phase, the company will focus on projects in the technology sector, banking and agriculture, as well as retail and extractive industries. It is assumed that Yakov & Partners will establish cooperation with companies from the CIS and BRICS countries.

“The demand for strategic consulting services is higher than ever, not only in Russia, but throughout the world. Our operating model will be slightly different from classic strategic consulting: we plan to integrate deeper with our clients, work, among other things, as a co-investor and help Russian companies develop international relations,” said Yakov Sergienko.

The international consulting company McKinsey sold the Russian division to local managing partners in May – Yakov Sergienko (he owns 33% of McKinsey and CIAs LLC), Sergey Zaborov, Elena Kuznetsova, Tigran Saakayan and Viktor Surkov (16.75% each), follows from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRLE). On July 17, another change of ownership took place: 75% ended up with T.Partners LLC, 25% – with MSK Capital LLC, which is wholly owned by Sergienko. In T.Partners, he owns 10.6%, and six other shareholders each have 14.9%.
