The former Russian subsidiary of the Volkswagen concern has announced a name change to AGR Automotive Group. The decision was made as part of a full-scale rebranding of the company.
“The name change was the first step in the transformation and restart of the business after the transfer of assets to the new owner,” the company’s press release says (available to Kommersant).
As the press service specified, the rebranding will affect the corporate identity and visual identification, as well as the dealer network of more than 400 enterprises.
The AGR Automotive Group is engaged in the sale of vehicles and parts. The company’s assets include an engine plant in Kaluga, a parts and accessories warehouse in Chekhov, and a financial services business.
Volkswagen decided to suspend production in Russia after the start of a special operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. In May, the automaker informed on the sale of its stake in the Russian “daughter” of Volkswagen Group Rus to the structure of “Avilon” – LLC “Art-Finance”.
