The first Russian mining excavator began work in India

The first mining crawler excavator EKG-20KM manufactured by IZ-KARTEKS im. P. G. Korobkov” (part of the UZTM-KARTEX group) began work in India, informed company press office.
In total, UZTM-KARTEX will supply the largest Indian state concern Coal India Ltd (CIL) with 11 such excavators, as well as five walking excavators manufactured by Uralmashzavod. The next EKG-20KM will be put into operation in September, the delivery of the entire batch will be completed in 2023.
The contract also provides for the provision of spare parts, tools and accessories for eight years from the date of commissioning of the first excavator and their maintenance.
“The implementation of such projects confirms the competencies of our manufacturers and the demand for Russian heavy engineering products in foreign markets. The enterprises of the UZTM-KARTEX group not only fully satisfy the needs of Russian mining and metallurgical companies, but also successfully carry out large-scale export programs,” Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade, commented on the commissioning of the first machine.
According to him, the export potential will continue to ensure the maximum load of the group’s enterprises and high demand for their products.
Yan Center, General Director of UZTM-KARTEX, in turn, noted that the supply of Coal India excavator equipment for the group has become the largest in 30 years.
