The first historical park in the annexed territories was opened in Melitopol

The opening of the multimedia historical park “Russia is my history” took place in Melitopol. The opening was attended by the first deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kirinko. The Historical Park is an interactive museum exhibition about the history of Russia and Melitopol since ancient times.

“The goal of this unique project is that every resident of the Zaporozhye region, Novorossiya, Kherson region, and neighboring regions has the opportunity to come here and feel this historical connection of time,” Mr. Kiriyenko said during the opening, reports “RIA News”.

Governor of the Zaporozhye region Evgeny Balitsky, who also attended the ceremony, said that in the future there will be more such parks, since they are designed to “remember our history.”

The exhibition tells about the baptism of Rus’, the fight against the Tatar-Mongol yoke, and the conquest of Siberia. The initiator of the project is Metropolitan Tikhon Shevkunov. Sergei Kiriyenko noted that during his first visits, the building in which the park is located was almost destroyed.

“Russia is my history” is the first historical park in the regions of Ukraine annexed to the Russian Federation. In March 2023, it was reported that the park will also open in Sevastopol, where exhibitions of the Crimean Museum from ancient times to the present day will be shown.
