The Nizhny Novgorod Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) opened a case against the Telegram channel “My Nizhny Novgorod” due to violation of the Federal Law “On Advertising”. The publication writes about this “Durov Code” with reference to the ruling on initiating a case. The channel notes that this is the first case in Russia when a case has been initiated for the lack of labeling of advertising on Telegram.

Employees of the FAS Office for the Nizhny Novgorod Region checked the content of the Telegram channel “My Nizhny Novgorod” after an appeal from “advertising consumer F.” It turned out that from September 2 to September 12, 16 publications were posted without the “Advertising” mark. The case of violation of advertising legislation will be considered on October 16 via videoconference.

September 1 entered due to amendments to the advertising law, according to which participants in the advertising market are required to label online advertising and transmit data about its placement to Roskomnadzor. Fines for lack of marking will amount to up to 100 thousand rubles. for individuals, up to 500 thousand rubles. – for legal entities.

Online advertising labeling regulations have created a demand for individual experts in this field. According to market participants, the new position has appeared primarily in large advertising agencies and media outlets, while the rest are mainly hiring lawyers and clerks with appropriate qualifications.
