The first batch of eggs from Turkey in the amount of 19.3 tons (316.8 thousand pieces) was imported into Russia through the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint (Dagestan). This is stated in message Rosselkhoznadzor.

December 29 department allowed import of hatching eggs from six Turkish enterprises. The press service of Rosselkhoznadzor clarified that the decision is due to the need from Russian manufacturers.

In December, Rosstat reported that by the end of November, eggs had risen in price by 15.1%, since the beginning of the year – by 35.5%, in annual terms – by 40.3%. December 23 government accepted resolution on the abolition of duties on imported frozen meat of domestic chickens in the amount of up to 140 thousand tons for the entire period of 2024.
