The results of the ZD year have been becoming reports on the tastes and moods of MK readers for decades. The results of the past year are also a record of a difficult time in which a clear mind and objectivity have become a luxury. Therefore, summing up ZD-results-22, as our reader remembers, we refused to vote so that music lovers had the opportunity to take a break from their judgments overheated by the news agenda. But the song charts are a reflection stretched over twelve months, and the winners are ultimately determined by statistics. And we collected it.

The rules are very simple. Twelve months – twelve Top 20 Hits charts. For the first place – twenty points, for the last – one. The successes of all tracks in each of the twelve tables are summed up, and the final twenty of the most popular songs are obtained, according to ZD readers. Some tracks score the same number of points, but the advantage in the final standings goes to the hit that started from a higher position.

The results, it must be admitted, are not very surprising, because they reflect a rather well-known observation: the more disgusting life is, the more you want to go into a dance gap. Different artists imagine dance music in different ways, there is a club beat, and exotic, and a modernized r’n’b, but if there is a tenacious chorus, all this works well. Against this unsophisticated background, the faction of the so-called. giants, whose names until recently were included in the mandatory musical menu, and now the change of not only eras, but also generations looks like a fait accompli. Although individual veterans of the genre still continue to desperately cling to the last steps of the rapidly escaping music express, the ferocity of their grip still helps them stay afloat.

The current champions Gayazovs Brothers appeared on the ZD chart with their Raspberry Lada back in December 2021, but in many ways made the mood of the past year. Their track is not quite similar to what they did before, besides, the song is not directly related to the musical fashion, according to which it is now customary to churn out often completely faceless musical production. There is certainly a kind of passion in Raspberry Lada, which, perhaps, will allow this track to become a very long-playing number in the band’s career. How did they become (persistent allusions arise) from past musical eras “The Hijacker” for Irina Allegrova (“I stole, like someone else’s car,” nine “I …”), “Cherry Nine” for the group “Combination” or, if fresher, the notorious ” Lada Eggplant. The current “Lada” seems to be timeless and, as it were, made not for a specific audience, but almost for everyone. In general, we now have our own Modern Talking, it would be better to understand how much they are enough.

For many, DJ Smash was probably a relic from the 2000s, the days of prestigious clubs, rivers of expensive champagne and a night out. But now the clubs have run out of money, the rivers of champagne have become shallow, and Mr. Andrey Shirman, with his supernatural flair for dance hits, is still in business. In the final twenty there were two tracks at once, to which he put his golden hands, and both shook a variety of discos quite well.

Klava Koka also takes into account the demand for dancing, but her overall strategy is much broader. She clearly aims at big pop divas, and a lot comes out. Koka is the absolute record holder for the number of songs that appeared on the ZD charts last year. To the two in the final table, you need to add four more, which did not reach the twenty, and you get an impressive diligence. The question of the ratio of quantity and quality, of course, remains, but in the case of Klava, it is not exactly point-blank.

Anna Asti last year became a headache not only for Klava Koka (girl competition is a terrible thing), but also for her former Artik & Asti colleague Artem Umrikhin. The latter restarted the duet with the new vocalist Sevil Veliyeva, but his former colleague turned into almost a new Loboda (in the absence of the old one) and started in such a way that it didn’t seem enough. Anna had as many as five songs on the ZD charts, while Artik & Asti had only three. Among other workaholics is the already mentioned DJ Smash with four tracks, the same number for Dabro, three for Zivert and Jony. A motley company came out: club master DJ Smash, modern pop from Anna Asti and Artik & Asti, beetle-pop from Dabro, cosmopolitan nostalgia for the eighties from Zivert and Jony with hookah rap.

Something amazing happens with the latter. Listening to hookah rap seems to be not very decent, just like “Tender May” in its time, but nevertheless, everyone is aware of new products. Over the last couple of years, experts of all kinds have already taken center stage with popcorn, determined to watch the local hip-hop, with all its variations of the Titanic, sink. But the performance does not start, and hip-hop, like hookah rap, is still everywhere, including on the charts. Bahh Tee & Turken with their “Former” this year did not get out of the song charts of the hit parade “ZD” for five whole months, which became a record of the season. Apparently, our audience has its own specific pleasures, which are clearly visible in the voting results.

Singer MakSim showed last year a trick worthy of the coolest illusionists. Without releasing a single new song, she ended up in the final twenty at once with two old ones. It is clear that the impulse for attention to the singer arose on a wave of dramatic recovery after a difficult struggle with the deadly covid, when everything hung almost by a thread (at least, as the official representatives of the singer reported). And having recovered, she found herself in the center of everyone’s attention and excitement, which would have been more than problematic to achieve in any other case. It is difficult to say who used whom more in her collabs with Dima Bilan and Yegor Creed (rather, everyone profited well), the singer very loudly reminded of herself, the stadiums sobbed, and the old songs went with a bang. Especially when there are no new ones.

As for joint tracks, this entertainment is still in vogue. There are already seven of them in the top twenty, and generational alliances like Khabib with Ivanushki or Anna Asti with Philip Kirkorov look the most touching. Veterans in such situations are downright admirable. Philip managed to fit in very organically with the current pop modern with its heavy luxury aesthetics, in which the pop king has no equal at all, and Ivanushki found material in their archives that is quite digestible for a new hit. High class old school! Some of the pop veterans are sometimes quite energetic, they can if they want to. Even if their bronze powdered poker faces are contemptuously imperturbable, and tired eyes are hidden under the haze of Gucci, Chanel and Prada, these citizens do not hold mischief and adventurism.

And some sentiment. In twelve months, 91 songs hit our charts. Of course, not all of them made it to the top twenty, but there were compositions among them that simply cannot be remembered correctly. First of all, this concerns the songs of Zemfira, DDT, Bi-2, Oxxxymiron (recognized as a foreign agent), Max Korzh. Polished pop hits always have a much better chance of moving to the top, but we are very pleased that the public still listens and notes for themselves songs that have both truth and musical intelligence. May they resound this year as well.
