The production company “Our Show” is preparing the musical and circus show “Cheburashka”, said Vedomosti co-owner and CEO of the company Natalya Lokteva. The premiere of the production will take place in Moscow on July 27. Music producer and composer of the show – soloist of the group “Hands Up!” Sergey Zhukov.
The Cheburashka show was created with the support of the Yellow, Black and White (YBW) studio, one of the creators of the film of the same name, which collected a record 6.8 billion rubles. for the entire modern history of domestic film screening. The partners of the circus show were companies that participated in the preparation of the film: Soyuzmultfilm, Start online cinema, Russia 1 TV channel. Investments in the project amounted to 200 million rubles, said Ms. Lokteva.
The show was staged by theater director, Golden Mask laureate Nina Chusova. As Sergei Zhukov clarified, work on the production has been going on for more than four months. “The performance will be of interest to everyone who is ready to watch a good, kind, instructive story,” he said. According to the musician, it will be “a technically cool show that is not ashamed to be shown on any stage in the world.”
According to the producer of the show “Cheburashka” Eduard Iloyan, 100 shows are planned to be held in Moscow by the end of the year. Natalya Lokteva explained that the show has three lineups, so at the same time Cheburashka will run in St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk and Sochi.
The film “Cheburashka” provided record box office figures for Russian cinemas in early 2023. According to the Ministry of Culture, in the first two months of this year, fees amounted to 13.1 billion rubles, which is 56% more than in the same period in 2022.
