In July and August of this year, sales of Barbie dolls in the United States soared by 25% compared to the same period last year. The main stimulus for this growth was the worldwide release of the film “Barbie” in the summer. This is reported by CNN citing data from research company Circana.

The study shows that the Barbie brand ranked first in demand and dollar sales growth in the doll category in July-August. And the top 10 best-selling products in the doll category during this period included six Barbie brand products. Mattel, which owns the brand, anticipated such demand and specially released a new collection of toys at the beginning of summer. These are Barbie and Ken dolls with the appearance of the characters from the film “Barbie”, as well as a toy three-story Barbie house, the original of which appears in the film.

Mattel expects demand for these products to continue in the near future and plans to release even more products in this theme ahead of the New Year and Christmas sales. To this end, the company has entered into more than 165 partnerships with various manufacturers and retailers to sell a wide range of themed products, including toys, clothing, furniture, home accessories and even pasta, sushi and burgers.
