The death of the outstanding conductor and artistic director of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Yuri Temirkanov, made adjustments to the work of this cultural institution. Concerts scheduled for the coming days are postponed or cancelled. This is due to the farewell ceremony, which will take place on November 5th.
The Philharmonic also thought about perpetuating the memory of an outstanding colleague. As it became known today, the XXIII International Winter Festival “Arts Square” will be dedicated to his memory. The festival will take place in December.
Let us remind you that Temirkanov’s life was cut short on November 3, the People’s Artist of the USSR did not live a little more than a month before his 85th birthday.
