The Federation Council approved amendments that introduce penalties for spam calls and tighten liability for advertising loans in violation of the law. The project is posted on portal State Duma.

Advertising loans using spam calls will be punishable by a fine for individuals from 10 thousand to 20 thousand rubles, for officials – from 20 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, for legal entities – from 300 thousand to 1 million rubles.

Fines will be increased for advertising loans by credit institutions and microfinance organizations in violation of the law. If lenders do not indicate the full cost of the loan, their employees will be fined from 40 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, and for legal entities – a fine from 600 thousand to 1.6 million rubles.

Now, in accordance with the Law “On Advertising,” information about the full cost of the loan must be provided before information about interest rates. In this case, the full loan amount must be indicated in a font no smaller in size.
