The Federal Tax Service warned about scammers sending letters on behalf of the tax office – Kommersant

Fraudsters send emails on behalf of the Federal Tax Service about identifying suspicious transactions and taxpayer activity. The Federal Tax Service notes in Telegramwhich has nothing to do with this newsletter.
The letters ask taxpayers to undergo additional verification and provide documents. For example, invoices, delivery notes, acceptance certificates, advance reports. Fraudsters offer to contact the “designated inspector”, and otherwise they threaten to freeze accounts until the circumstances are clarified. A scan of the letter with stamps is attached to the mailing. The contact details of the “inspector” are in the body of the letter.
“We do not send such messages and have no relation to these letters; we do not make telephone calls offering to pay taxes online,” the Federal Tax Service said in a statement. The IRS asks you not to open suspicious emails or click on links.
The Federal Tax Service notes that all information about taxes and payment methods is posted in the taxpayer’s personal account. Only automatic notifications are sent to your email from the tax office, which contain reminders that detailed information should be found in your personal account.
