The Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) denied information on the reduction from 23.6 billion to 17.3 billion rubles. the amount of claims in the case of embezzlement in the bank “Yugra”. “At the moment, the amount of claims against these persons has not been reduced. At 23.6 billion rubles. the damage caused to the bank “Yugra” by its controlling persons was assessed. However, in the amount of 6 billion rubles. the damage was compensated,” the press service of the DIA said (quote from TASS).
As clarified by the DIA, as part of bankruptcy proceedings, an analysis was made of the funds received by the bank from 2014 to 2017 before its license was revoked. According to the results of the analysis, the damage to the bank in the amount of 6.3 billion rubles. was reimbursed.
“In view of the above work, the amount of damage to be compensated from the accused has currently amounted to 17.3 billion rubles,” the agency’s press service said.
In the spring of 2019, in the case of embezzlement of 23 billion rubles. in Yugra, the former owner of the bank, Aleksey Khotin, was detained. He and other defendants in the case are currently under house arrest. The investigation believes that the defendants in the period 2014-2017 stole money from the bank by issuing knowingly bad loans to three companies controlled by Alexei Khotin. The bankers themselves do not recognize the issued loans as fictitious.
