The development of the Russian aircraft engine PD-35 was delayed for a couple of years

The development timeline for the PD-35 engine for civil aviation, which was supposed to be submitted before 2027-2028, was shifted by a couple of years. This was announced by the Deputy General Director of JSC United Engine Corporation (part of Rostec), Managing Director of UEC-Aviadvigatel Alexander Inozemtsev. He assured that the development will not be stopped.
“Now in connection with all the events (terms of development.— “b”) are shifting a couple of years to the right, because the funds are now redistributed to increase the volumes of PD-14, PD-8, PS-90A. This is a forced measure, but nothing stops,” he said. TASS Mr. Inozemtsev on the sidelines of the Perm Engineering and Industrial Forum.
Perm JSC UEC-Aviadvigatel is developing the PD-35, designed for the Russian-Chinese CR929 aircraft. Work on the creation of the engine is at the stage of research and development. The cost of developing the PD-35 was estimated at $3 billion.
