The developer of the Russian Leonardo reservation system, Sirena-Travel (part of Rostec), is being searched, market sources told Kommersant. According to one of the interlocutors, operational activities at the company’s office on Leningradsky Prospekt are carried out by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB and the Russian National Guard.

According to another source familiar with the situation, “the actions are related to large-scale attacks on the IT infrastructure of the Russian ticket booking system, which the company faced last fall.” The company notified law enforcement agencies “about information security incidents and provides access to all necessary documents and data during the investigation.” He added that law enforcement officers are studying the technology to identify “possible vulnerabilities.”

In the same building is the JSC Research Center for Automated Design Systems (SRC ASK), where, according to Kommersant, operational activities also take place. However, Kommersant’s interlocutors do not specify whether these two processes are connected. Kommersant sent a request to Rostec. The Ministry of Internal Affairs was unable to comment promptly on the situation.

It is possible that investigative actions are also being carried out in the houses of the defendants in this case: on April 3, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow granted the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ request to hold the event in the apartments of two private individuals.

On September 28, 2023, Leonardo was subjected to large-scale hacker attack, due to which Russian airlines, in particular the entire Aeroflot group, Ural Airlines and Red Wings, experienced interruptions in passenger check-in. Later, Rostec stated that the goal of the hackers was to stop air travel in the Russian Federation, and the DDOS attacks themselves came from the territory of several countries, including Ukraine.
