The first deputy general director of the Tretyakov Gallery, Rinat Shigapov, who signed the order on the temporary transfer of the Trinity to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra in July 2022, left the post. They told about it RBC two springs in the museum.

According to the publication, after leaving the Tretyakov Gallery, Rinat Shigapov became president of the National Cultural Heritage Foundation, which designs cultural centers in the regions. The Board of Trustees of the Foundation made a decision on his appointment on June 28, and the order was signed the next day.

Rinat Shigapov supervised the construction and repair of the museum. He worked in the museum during the period of active construction of branches in Samara, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad. In July 2022, the former general director of the Tretyakov Gallery, Zelfira Tregulova, said that Rinat Shigapov is “an incredibly experienced builder, a highly professional person.”

In addition, Rinat Shigapov replaced the general director of the Tretyakov Gallery when she went on sick leave before the final transfer of the Trinity in June.

On May 15, the Russian Orthodox Church announced that the president had decided to give Andrey Rublev’s “Trinity” to the church. For decades, the work of the 15th century was in the Tretyakov Gallery. Art historians argue that the necessary conditions for storing the icon can only be provided in the museum.

“Trinity” will be in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior until the day of the celebration of the memory of St. Sergius of Radonezh on July 18. From the temple will be sent for restoration, which can drag on for a year.
