What’s going on in BDT now? How did the team react to the fact that they could lose their artistic director Andrey Moguchiy? The person inside the theater with whom we spoke said that neither the artists nor other employees of the theater knew anything about the non-renewal of the contract with Moguchiy, they read about everything in the media.

“Of course, there is nothing good in this,” our source said. “Because the Mighty Man is decent in relation to the theatre. When he came 10 years ago, he did not remove a single person, he did not remove salaries. Was at the moment when he just came, and the audience did not go to the theater, but now he went. Perhaps this is a different spectator, not the one to which they have become accustomed for many years, but our halls are full.

— Well, what is the atmosphere in the theatre?

– The atmosphere is good. He took many new artists into the troupe, but there were no groupings and no struggle under him and there is not. Work was in full swing, no one was without work. In short, everyone is tense, waiting to see what will happen.

– In your opinion, why could they do this to the Mighty? Political position or something else?

“Well, I think he made some wrong moves. Someone in the theater considers this a big mistake.

– What do you mean?

– He did not send artists to Rostov to play a performance, closer to the combat zone. Many theaters contacted by the Ministry of Theater went, but the BDT did not go. Everyone else asks the question: why did he hire Alexei Malobrodsky.

Does he work in the theatre?

– No, not in the theater, but in the fund. And they say that the fund even paid a fine for him in court. At the same time, he lives in the apartment of the theater, which the BDT wrote off at one time, the actress Prizvan-Sokolova.

– Apparently, the BDT will become the director’s theater and Tatyana Arkhipova will be in charge of it. How do you think she can handle it? What are the artists saying?

– It’s hard to say, she probably understands well about money, she will be able to attract funds to the theater, but … Few people believe that there will be creative success.
