The defense concern Rheinmetall estimates its value in the coming years at 17 billion euros

The market value of the German defense concern Rheinmetall could reach 17 billion euros in the coming years. About it declared CEO Armin Papperger in an interview with Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND).

“Rheinmetall’s valuation of 17 billion euros is realistic in the medium term,” said the head of the concern. According to him, now the company’s value is about 10 billion euros.

Papperger added that the manufacturer is currently negotiating the production of tanks, ammunition, and may soon begin discussions on orders for anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs) and aircraft. “In this case, we are talking about long periods and many billions of euros,” said Papperger.

In mid-May, Reuters, citing a statement from the concern wrotethat Rheinmetall and Ukroboronprom will create a joint venture for the production and repair of tanks in Ukraine. It was clarified that the signing of the agreement on the establishment of the plant is scheduled for the end of June, the work of the enterprise should begin as early as mid-July.

A similar statement was made earlier by Papperger himself. He said his group was in “promising” talks with Kiev to build a tank factory in Ukraine capable of producing up to 400 Panther tanks a year. According to him, Ukraine needs 600-800 tanks, and it is possible to achieve the supply of such a quantity if they start production as soon as possible.

After that, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev notedthat in the event of the construction of the plant, Russia will respond with “a salute from Caliber” and other devices. According to him, Russia “is looking forward to” the decision to build such a plant.
