the decree on Eurobonds does not apply to the exchange of assets with foreign investors – Kommersant

The decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the temporary procedure for the fulfillment of debt obligations under Eurobonds does not concern the issue of the exchange of assets with foreign investors, reported TASS press service of the Bank of Russia.

The Central Bank explained that the decree clarifies the previously established procedure for payments on Russian Eurobonds. The payment procedure does not change for investors whose Eurobonds are accounted for by Russian depositories. Investors whose Eurobonds are accounted for outside the Russian Federation can receive payments in rubles from the “I” account or in foreign currency from the accounts of the National Settlement Depository in foreign depositories, the press service reported.

Vladimir approved updated procedure for payments on Eurobonds yesterday, September 9. According to the document, holders of Russian Eurobonds will be able to receive payments on them in foreign currency from December 15.
