Filmed aboard the International Space Station, Klim Shipenko’s film “Challenge” will be released on April 20, informs Portal “Film Distributor’s Bulletin”.
According to the original plans of Central Partnership, the film was supposed to premiere on Cosmonautics Day, April 12, but distributors had to postpone the date by more than a week.
Recall that the shooting of “The Challenge” took place on the ISS for a total of 90 hours. Director Shipenko and lead actress Yulia Peresild had to take on the work that a large film crew usually does.
In addition, members of the ISS crew helped the filmmakers to make the necessary changes to the script so that the lines of the heroine Peresild sounded as natural as possible.
Filming took place from 5 to 17 October 2021. The plot is dedicated to the story of a doctor (Yulia Peresild), who needs to prepare for a flight to the ISS within a month in order to save the life of one of the crew members.
