The program opposing amateur cooks returns after a seven-year absence.
The best soups are made in old pots. France 2 is convinced of this. Seven years after stopping “MasterChef”the channel has indeed decided to revive from its ashes the culinary competition launched in 2010 by TF1 and has called on Agathe Lecaron to take the helm.

Historic leader of the show for having participated in the first four seasons, Yves Camdeborde will again be part of the jury. He will be accompanied by Thierry Marx, who officiated in the same role in “Top Chef” on M6, and Georgiana Viou, emblematic candidate of the first season of “MasterChef”. “Twelve years ago I was in their place and the opportunity was too good to become a juror. I found that the level had evolved a lot”noted the chef.
The three jurors will have the task of accompanying the 18 amateur cooks (ten women and eight men, aged 22 to 56 and coming from all professional backgrounds) in their apprenticeship through numerous tests with, at the end of the day, the title of Best Amateur Chef in France and 100,000 euros. Each week, guest chefs such as Christian Constant, Frédéric Anton, Alessandra Montagne, Simone Zanoni, Émeline Aubry, Olivier Bellin, Fanny Rey, Pierre Augé, Mory Sacko, Christophe Michalak or Éric Briffard will follow one another to challenge and advise the candidates.
For its return, the “MasterChef” set, which is part of anti-waste, seasonality, eco-responsibility and the enhancement of our terroirs, has had a makeover with wood, greenery and pastel shades. Aromatic plants have been integrated into the work plans of the candidates, the products of the commissary are offered in bulk or in jars and compost has even been installed on the set for a more ecological management of waste.
