The Leninsky District Court of Yaroslavl satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation for the seizure of shares in the energy company TGC-2 in favor of the state, informed Interfax.
“The claim is upheld. The decision can be appealed within a month,” the judge said.
This lawsuit was registered in court on June 28. The defendants were Kostroma Kogeneratsiya Limited, Janan Holdings Limited, Raltaka Enterprises Ltd, Litim Trading Limited, Kores Invest LLC, as well as ex-senator from Chuvashia, businessman Leonid Lebedev and Debt Agency LLC.
The shares of Janan Holdings Limited, Raltaka Enterprises Ltd, Litim Trading Limited and Kores Invest LLC were transferred to the trust management of Sovlink in 2016–2017, Vedomosti wrote earlier. At that time, these structures were controlled by the Sintez group founded by Lebedev. Sovlink owns 57.8% of the authorized capital of TGC-2, Kostroma Kogeneratsiya Limited owns 23.59%, follows from the list of TGC-2 affiliates for the first half of 2023.
During the meeting, the prosecutor noted that Kores Invest acquired shares in TGC-2 with illegally obtained funds from Lebedev, who controlled it, therefore, the shares received as a result of a corruption case should be seized in favor of the state. Kores Invest itself said that the shares were acquired by the company using a loan from Sberbank for 16 billion rubles. The representative of the company also petitioned to postpone the case, but the court rejected it.
TGC-2 enterprises are located in the Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kostroma, Novgorod and Yaroslavl regions, as well as in Skopje (North Macedonia). Installed electric capacity of TGC-2 is 2.45 GW, thermal capacity is 8804 Gcal/h. The structure of the enterprise includes 12 thermal power plants, 30 boiler houses and four heating network enterprises.
