In June RBCciting court materials, reported that the reason for the claim by “UK First” was the failure to comply with VK (MOEX: VKCO) the requirements of Presidential Decree No. 430, which establishes the obligation for all issuers of Russian Eurobonds to either pay Russian investors the debt in rubles or reissue their bonds in Russia for replacement. The VK representative responded by stating that the company is not a guarantor for the specified issue of Eurobonds, did not receive money from the foreign issuer that issued them, and therefore is not a proper defendant in this dispute, the publication reported.
