The Arbitration Court of the Chelyabinsk Region satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office for the recovery of 105 billion rubles. from the former owners of the enterprises of the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant (CHEMK) group, reported Interfax. The initial amount of claims was 25.8 billion rubles, it was increased by the supervisory authority on March 28.

RUB 105 billion — this is the total amount of dividends that the plant paid to the parent structure in 2015–2023. As part of the recovery, the Prosecutor General’s Office also demanded that the agricultural holding assets belonging to LLC Ariant Group of Companies, as well as the Katav-Ivanovsky Foundry, be seized in favor of the Russian Federation.

The defendants in the lawsuit of the Prosecutor General’s Office are the family of Chelyabinsk businessman Yuri Antipov and the Etalon company they own, through which they owned the assets of the CHEMK group. Also on the list of defendants is Mr. Antipov’s former partner Alexander Aristov, his wife, daughter and son-in-law.

The Prosecutor General’s Office filed a lawsuit on March 14 demanding that the debt forgiveness agreement that was concluded between Etalon’s predecessor, the Ural-Siberian Metallurgical Company (USMK) and Yuri Antipov, be invalidated. The contract, according to the prosecutor’s claim, should be considered void, since it was not economically feasible.

February 26, Arbitration Court of the Sverdlovsk Region satisfied a lawsuit by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia regarding the seizure in favor of the state of shares of three enterprises of the ChEMK group that belonged to JSC “Company Etalon”. The court declared the privatization of the 1990s illegal and seized shares of JSC Serov Ferroalloy Plant (NWF, Sverdlovsk Region), JSC Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant and JSC Kuznetsk Ferroalloys (Kemerovo Region).
