The court has not yet proceeded with the lawsuit challenging the sale of Qiwi Bank – Kommersant

The Moscow Arbitration Court has not yet accepted the claim of the delicensed Qiwi Bank represented by the Deposit Insurance Agency, in which it challenges the purchase and sale agreement for Qiwi shares, as well as the pledge and encumbrance agreement. This follows from card indexes court
The Deposit Insurance Agency is the temporary administration of Qiwi Bank. The claim was filed in the interests of creditors against Hong Kong-based Fusion Factor Fintech Limited, Cyprus-based Qiwi plc and Russian JSC Qiwi. The court ruling states that the claim has not yet been accepted for proceedings due to incomplete payment of the state duty. Payment must be made by April 5th.
In January 2024, the Qiwi group sold the Russian assets of Qiwi JSC (including Qiwi Bank) to the Hong Kong company Fusion Factor Fintech Limited of the former chief executive officer of Qiwi plc Andrei Protopopov. The transaction amount was 23.75 billion rubles.
The Bank of Russia revoked the license of Qiwi Bank for shady transactions and violation of the law on February 21. Previously, the bank ranked 89th in Russia in terms of assets. FSB officers began a pre-investigation check against Qiwi Bank regarding the withdrawal of funds obtained illegally abroad.
