The court fined Wikimedia 3 million rubles. for not removing articles about the military operation in Ukraine

The world judicial district in Moscow again fined 3 million rubles. the Wikimedia Foundation (owner of the Wikipedia encyclopedia) for refusing to remove information from the site (part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). These are articles that allegedly presented false information about the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
According to the protocol, excerpts from which TASS cites, Roskomnadzor demanded the removal of two articles published on the encyclopedia’s website. One article discusses the name of the operation and its comparison with other military conflicts, the other provides information about the possible use of nuclear weapons during hostilities in Ukraine.
This is the 12th fine that Wikimedia received in 2023 for not deleting content. The total amount for all fines is 20.4 million rubles. For the last time the court decided to fine the Wikimedia Foundation for not deleting information on June 20th. Then the fine amounted to 1.5 million rubles. The reason for imposing a fine was a video containing propaganda of catching.
