The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg fined the Okko online cinema for 1 million rubles. for spreading LGBT relationships among minors (Part 2 of Article 6.21.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) under the label 16+. According to court documents, the Okko library contains three series that contain “demonstration of non-traditional sexual relationships and preferences.”

In the second, fifth and sixth episodes of “Annika,” the court’s press service reported, LGBT relationships are mentioned, and in the fourth episode “there are even demonstrations in the form of a kiss.” In the series “The One”, “bad scenes” were identified, where the heroine, “in a fit of old feelings,” “tenderly strokes the other’s hand.” In the series “My Dead Ex” the heroine came out.

On January 25, the Primorsky District Court fined Okko 1 million rubles. because of the film “Scam of the Century”, in which “non-traditional sexual relations” occur nine times. On August 4, 2023, the online cinema was fined for the same amount for demonstrating LGBT people in 16 films. The claims concerned, among other things, the films “Perfect Strangers”, “Black Swan”, “Three More Weddings”.

On November 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation banned the activities of the formally non-existent “International LGBT Social Movement” and declared it extremist. In March of this year, the movement was included by the Ministry of Justice in the list of prohibited and liquidated organizations.
