The Moscow Arbitration Court did not allow Rosbank to seize the property of the Finnish bank Nordea Bank ABP and its Russian subsidiary Westcon in the amount of €14.3 million (more than 1.5 billion rubles at the current exchange rate). This is reported in decision court.
On August 4, Rosbank asked the court to allow him to seize funds on Nordea Bank ABP accounts, including correspondent accounts, with Unicredit Bank, as well as type C accounts and funds on Westcon accounts, including accounts with Raiffeisenbank and Unicredit Bank “.
In addition, Rosbank asked to prohibit Westcon from disposing of its property worth more than 5% of the book value of assets, with the exception of transactions related to ordinary business activities. Rosbank also petitioned for a ban on Nordea Bank ABP to dispose of a 100% stake in Westcon.
The arbitration court refused Rosbank. The court argued that the bank did not prove the need for arrest. “The above arguments are not evidence confirming the need to take interim measures and indicating that there is a real threat that the failure to take these interim measures may cause significant damage,” the court’s decision says.
Rosbank used to belong to the French banking group Societe Generale. In May 2022, the group sold Rosbank and the insurance business in Russia to Vladimir Potanin’s Interros.
