The Contact payment system (operator – Qiwi Bank, which was deprived of its license today) has suspended operations. This is reported in the service application. Earlier today started blocking transactions through Qiwi wallets.

“The service has been temporarily suspended,” Contact said in a statement. The Contact payment system owns more than 500 thousand points for receiving and issuing money transfers throughout Russia, in countries near and far abroad.

Today, February 21, Bank of Russia recalled license from Qiwi Bank for conducting shadow transactions. According to the regulator, the bank carried out settlements between individuals and shadow businesses, including in favor of crypto exchangers, online casinos, and bookmakers.

Over the past year, the Central Bank applied restrictive measures to Qiwi Bank five times, including twice restricting certain transactions. After the license was revoked, the regulator promised to forward data on bank operations with signs of criminal offenses to law enforcement officers.
