From May 31 to June 2, 2024, the “Days of Italy” festival will be held in the Belgian commune of Bleny. Among the guest stars was the popular singer and composer Enzo Ghinazzi, better known under the pseudonym Pupo. He was scheduled to perform on the last two days of the festival. However, recently the organizers of “Days of Italy” terminated the contract with the singer. The reason turned out to be Pupo’s performance in Russia on the stage of the Kremlin Palace on March 15.

“He went to sing in the Kremlin, having received money from a state that attacks another and threatens Europe. Which is unacceptable for me,” said the Honorary Consul of Italy in Liege, Dominique Petta (quoted by Sudinfo).

Recently, for the same reason, a Pupo concert was canceled in Lithuania. Then the director of the Siauliai venue, where the singer was supposed to perform, called Pupo a “pro-Russian singer,” reports Sputnik Lithuania. Pupo himself later said TASSthat the concert was canceled due to strong pressure on its director from Lithuanian journalists and politicians.

Vienna Festival in February canceled concert by Russian conductor of Greek origin Theodor Currentzis. The reason was the refusal of the Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv to perform on the same stage with him.
